Look for a solution to twinning deadly Highway 63 soon rather than later, says Alberta’s premier.
Premier Alison Redford announced today Mike Allen, MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo, will advise Ric McIver, minister of transportation, on specific recommendations to accelerate the twinning of Highway 63 and address safety concerns.
“This is about the province finding ways to accelerate the twinning while looking at other ways to improve safety for everyone who travels this highway,” Redford said.
Allen will provide advice to McIver to prepare recommendations by June 29. Those actions will include a timeline for completing the twinning of Highway 63.
“We want to do this right and we want to move quickly,” Redford said.
