Alberta Premier Alison Redford is set to visit Fort McMurray Tuesday to talk with local politicians about ways to speed the twinning of Highway 63.
Redford is scheduled to meet local mayor Melissa Blake and MLA Mike Allen, Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo, to “discuss the need to expedite the twinning and enhance the safety of Highway 63,” a government news release says.
The visit will give Redford an opportunity to hear from Blake directly, said Jay O’Neill, spokesman with the premier’s office.
“(Redford) has talked to the mayor in the last couple of weeks, but she wants to go up there and have a conversation with her face to face to get a sense of what … the mayor would like to see as well,” O’Neill said Monday.
